Dr. Shawn Denning, Jr., DNP, APN, is a highly skilled and compassionate Board Certified nurse practitioner specializing in orthopedic care. He joined our practice in 2014 to collaborate with Dr. David Dickerson MD, bringing his expertise and dedication to delivering exceptional patient care.
Dr. Denning's educational journey began at Stockton University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010. Recognized for his academic excellence, he achieved program distinction in 2013 when he completed his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), paving the way for his career as a nurse practitioner. In the same year, he obtained his nurse practitioner certification.
Continuing his commitment to lifelong learning, Dr. Denning pursued further education and earned his Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Stockton University in 2021. This advanced degree has equipped him with an enhanced understanding of evidence-based practice and leadership in the field of nursing.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Denning serves as an adjunct professor at Stockton University since 2014. Through this role, he mentors and guides future nurse practitioner students, sharing his wealth of knowledge and expertise to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Born and raised on the Jersey Shore, Dr. Denning is deeply connected to his community. He takes great pride in providing personalized care to his patients and is dedicated to helping them recover from a variety of orthopedic conditions and injuries. Dr. Denning also serves as a first assistant in the operating room, assisting in surgical procedures related to orthopedic care.
Dr. Denning's clinical focus extends to the field of osteoporosis diagnosis and treatment. With his specialized knowledge in this area, he offers comprehensive care and guidance to patients seeking assistance with osteoporosis management.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Denning is a devoted family man. He is happily married and the proud father of two children. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the beautiful beaches and vibrant culture of the Jersey Shore.
